Well, at the request of some others, I have decided to go ahead and post a poem that I've worked on. It is supposed to follow a similar format to some of William Cullen Bryant's work. This is one of my better original works for the year, I hope you'll enjoy.
Life’s Mystery
Nature holds in thy presence beauty that Knows no bounds, her gaze expresses her explicit understanding, Truth of a thousand words, her omniscient presence Flows through the open passes, her complexion is that of a goddess, The eloquence of beauty, purposefulness of heart, Humanity always hears her, even with a heavy soul, Attempts to alleviate their troubled thoughts, The considerations of being one with nature encircle all, To escape from the modern world, to discover oblivion, truth, beauty.
Once thou reach this land, Will thy heart take pleasure? Exploring the tangled melancholy abyss of what was once considered reality, Truth will rise in the horizon, emblazoning the open fields, Thy heart will rest in peace, nevermore will thou forget, The splendor of gazing with open eyes, the rhythmic sound of rainfall Cleansing thy inhibitions.
Life is but a dream, the leaf blowing off alongside an open road, The water lily floating out into the water’s distance, do not fear, The darkness that will one day consume all, but embrace the truth which nature holds, Cherish life for its beauty, death for its closure, As you grow old, wake up, Like one who has just returned from a brief sojourn, And experience the wonders that reality brings.
